Hendersonville Public Library

Hendersonville's 38,000 square feet library offers a variety of activities from star gazing to book clubs.

The renovated library offers numerous resources such as wireless internet service, a periodical room, book clubs for adults and children, a room for young adults.  You can check out DVDs, videos, children's educational materials, and books on CDs.

The library hours can be a bit confusing.  You may want to print out the hours and post them on your fridge for future reference.

The library hours are:
Sunday:        Closed
Monday:       10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Tuesday:       10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Wednesday:   10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Thursday       10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday:           Closed
Saturday:       12 p.m. - 4 p.m.

If you wish to check out a popular book such as The Help, you need to reserve a copy.  I cannot tell you how many times I have tried to check out Eat, Pray, Love and it is never available.  One of the librarians will call you when the book is available.  You can always renew your books on the library website unless it is a new release.

The librarians are helpful, kind, and friendly.  I cannot sing their praises enough.  One of the librarians even sent me a card when she found out my mother was ill.  Another time my daughter was giggling loudly in the children's section and one of the librarians said she enjoyed hearing the sound of children's laughter.

The library also offers several interesting programs for people of all ages such as:

ABC Club is held for 4-year-olds during the school year.  You can sign up during the first week of August.

Teen Programming.  Middle and high schoolers can participate in activities every Thursday night.  Please check the library website for updated details.

Adult Book Club meets the third Monday of each month at 6:45 p.m.

Stamp Club.  Monthly meetings are held.  Please call 822-3137 for further details.

Star Gazing.  Cumberland Astronomical Society bring telescopes to the library for a night of sky watching.  Please check the library website for times.

For further details and updates on upcoming events, please visit the library website at http://www2.youseemore.com/hendersonville/Default.asp?
